Used car safety law!?
Ok so i just bought a 2003 mitsubishi eclipse for a kia dealer ship. They said every thing was good with it and i had a 30 day warranty with the car. So the 3rd day after i bought it i took it to a Friend that has a shop to check it out and see if there was anything wrong with it. So after he got done he said that there was a blown strut and few other things wrong with it . I was wondering should they have checked all this stuff before hand ? and should have they fixed it or ad least told us ? Whats the law on this ? Plezz help ![]()

Yes they should have checked everything out for you and since its not a certified car because of its age you will need to read you contract that you signed plus you can also ask them for their checkout list that they did on the vehicle before they sold it, if nothing can be done then it would fall under the AS-IS policy………..
But remember that depending on where you live some states side with the customer if your state has a safety law and the car fails withing X number of days………
Technically buying a used car from a dealer means that everything should be checked out or even told to you somethings are broken. However, if it is a CERTIFIED used car, things will be replaced even though they do not need to be. If you are under warranty, bring your mechanic to the dealer and talk it out.
