What are some things that can improve the automobile safety?
examples: in car breathelizers which won’t start car if over the alcohol limit, or heat sensitive steering wheel which won’t go if u don’t have two hand on the wheel.

Car Recommendation? Safety, fuel efficiency for under $22K? (details)?
Thank you for your suggestions- I’m looking to trade in my gas guzzling SUV for something fuel efficient. Safety rating is also important, because we plan to give this car to our daughter in about 3 years. The SUV is paid off and worth about ,000. I’d love to find something that could be a one-for-one swap, but that might not be possible. I would prefer new to used, but am willing to consider used if the fuel and safety ratings are high enough. I am not partial to any particular maker, and I’ve already ruled out the hybrids- each one for different reasons.
This car will be used first for a cross-country trip, and after that, will put 10 hours of highway miles per *week*. Fuel efficiency and safety are very important!
Any suggestions for me to go look at? Thank you!

Can you reuse a car seat that has been used by another child?
My sister is pregnant and my friend wants to give my sister her babies old car seat that she no longer uses. Her daughter just grew out of it within the last 6 months. Just want to know for safety reasons, if it’s safe to use it when another child has already used it.

i was just in a car accident today. my cat was in her carrier. however, she got thrown into the front footwell of my car. i was wondering if there is any way to restrain a pet carrier so a pet wont get thrown around if you are in an accident?

What tools should I buy for safety for my new (used) car?
I just bought a used Toyota Celica just to put miles on, and it came with no jack or tools, other then a small spare tire.
What tools should I buy that I can’t do without (in the trunk)?
Also, what’s the rule of thumb or how often should I bring it in for servicing, by miles?

need help or infromation on car rims design and what safety usa standard to fellow and where do it get this.?
I need some who is veru expertise or information on car rims and design?
this is about car rims design, what is safety guild line standards that comply with the usa governments safety standards and as the international safety standards, for the rims is on the right track or not. i know there is three standards "ANSI" and "SAE" and "TS16949" that should comply. what is these three above stands and where do i get the application from or who i go to. for example: dynamic radial fatigue, dynamic cornering fatigue, impact testing, rim flange strengh, torsional fatigue and stress analysis. what is the rules and where do i get these information from. the other question is : which test it should use for the "car/truck/suv, etc… and who can test it? and what is the cost to test the car rims, i’m planning to design my own car rims from soildworks,or cad. the other question what is the best car rims material, with strenght, fatigue, and cost. the other uestion what is the right core size for teh car rims and what is the right size for lug huts, etc…. thanks.

why cant i use a used car seat?
why cant i use a used car seat if it looks fine. why would it matter even if it was in a wreck… and why do expiration dates matter? i care about my childs safety but i mean , even if your in a wreck it s not like the car seat would be impacted unless it was a huge crash? it s not like it has airbags taht go off and its no longer usable. i just dont understand if the car seat looks fine, why cant you use a used one?

We need a small (used) car that will fit 2 car seats… what are your suggestions?
I have a young son and soon another one coming, so we’re going to need a car that will fit 2 car seats. Obviously safety is an issue for us… but we just can’t afford a big SUV or mini van.
What cars do you suggest and why… price is an issue, so keep that in mind.

Is it really that much wiser to buy a used car over a new one?
Right now I have a 2003 Rav4 that’s paid off. I’m torn between a 2004 Trailblazer and a 2007 Rav4. I know everyone says ‘buy used, it’s cheaper’ – and although I LOVE this Trailblazer, it doesn’t have side airbags or eletronic stability control, and other new safety features, which the new Rav4 does have. Obvioulsy, the new Rav4 would cost a lot more money, but I’m leaning towards it might be worth it, to have all those safety features. What do you think? Thanks.

What is the best overall used car to get, considering the following:?
What small to midsize car has the overall best reliability (everyday commute and 500+ mile road trips), gas mileage, ease/cost to maintain, and safety.
I’ll either spend 4-5k for something simple to last for now, or may go for 9-10k range to get something more for long term. I have an explorer now, which i really like, but its not feasible for everyday driving.

Using eBay protection program and eBay Safety Bank Account for buying and selling a car.. Is this Good IDEA?
I finally found the car I wanted to buy at right price at craiglist.com and I sent an e-mail to the car owner saying that I really want to buy your car if what you’ve described about your car is actually what it is.
She replied me saying that everything is right and she wants to use
eBay protection program for safety and for payment she prefers to use a eBay Safety Bank Account. And she needed my full name and address so she can open a case.(with no further obligation to buy it or fees).
This is my first time buying used car from the actual owner(not from the dealer), and I am not sure whether this is right process.
My concern is that the price she wanted me to pay for her car was relatively cheaper than the book value. (actually a lot cheaper)

How long does a used car dealer have to transfer a title ?
I bought my car April 27, 2007 on a loan I olny have 1000.00 left to pay now and the registration expired july 31, 2007 it also requires a safety inspection every year and that has expired. I have called the dealer almost every week for the last two months asking when my title will be sent to the dmv so I can get my new tags and be leagle. They have told me they will get around to it a.s.a.p. that if I get pulled over not to worry about it that the car is still in Maui Harley Davidson’s name. Im starting to get really mad. Almost four months and nothing from them. What are my options?

How hard it is to get a used car loan from a credit union when you have very little credit?
We don’t have bad credit, but we have very little credit because we don’t have a credit card (our choice — we despise being in debt). What are the odds of us being able to get a ,000 car loan from our credit union? (I’m sure it may be a little easier than getting one through the car dealership.)
