Does an airbag increase safety when used at the same time than a seat belt?

I always use a seat belt that in case of a collision won’t let me bump against the front of the car. In that case, what is the purpose of a frontal air bag?

Yes, the airbag is designed only to provide added safety when used with the seatbelt. Without the seatbelt, it is actually dangerous, due to the force of the explosive chemicals. It has the capability to kill you.

Never forget to use your seatbelt!

To keep you hitting/flying out of the wind shield or hitting the dash board or string wheel.

Yes and the simple purpose of an airbag is to prevent head, chest, and other injuries in the event of a car accident…

Would you rather have a bag of air being pushed at you, or a steering wheel? Anyway a seat belt COULD break, so the airbag would help you there.Yeah the airbag is useless WITHOUT a seat belt because you’d be flying in to that airbag AS it opened. It would actually injure you from pushing in to you.

Yes. The purpose of a seat belt is to restrain you in the event of a crash. If you are un-belted the chances of you being thrown through the windshield, or sustaining more injury is increased. The seat belt works cohesively with airbags. The purpose of the airbag is to add a cushion to the impact of the crash. Without it, the impact would be greater. So both the seat belt and the airbag work together because in the event of a crash you sustain less injuries on impact.

The airbag is designed to stop you frem eating the steering wheel. The seat belt is designed to keep you in your seat. Without the seat belt you can be thrown over the airbag and be thrown through the windshield.

As a defensive driving instructor once told us" If go into a skid and you are not wearing your seatbelt you can be thrown to the other side of the car. It is very difficult if not impossible to try to regain control of your car sitting on the passengers side of the car. If you are held in place by the seatbelt you stand a chance of regaining control."
